API USE CASE POLICY
(v2.2)
//\\//\\ MoonBase Design & Co. 2026
_At MOONBASE Design & Co., we are committed to ethical creative practices, artistic, transparency, and responsible innovation. Our mission is to help close the gap between traditional fine art and accessible collectible decor while preserving artistic integrity, fair labor principles, and meaningful human authorship.
1. Guiding Principles
Our creative philosophy is based on the following principles:
Human artistic direction remains primary at all stages of authorship.
AI is used selectively as a supportive production tool, not as a replacement for artistic intent, craftsmanship, or curatorial judgment.
All final works are reviewed, refined, approved, and materially shaped by human creators.
We prioritize transparency regarding process, edition structure, and fabrication methods.
We seek to responsibly balance accessibility, sustainability, and artistic quality through small-batch production practices.
2. Definition of “AI-Assisted” In Practice
For purposes of this policy, “AI-assisted” refers to the limited use of computational tools to support specific operational or creative tasks under direct human supervision.
Examples may include:
Preliminary compositional exploration
Color palette experimentation
Iterative concept visualization
Digital mockups or layout testing
Workflow acceleration for repetitive production tasks
Image cleanup, scaling, or formatting
Print preparation assistance
Administrative production optimization
AI systems are not treated as autonomous artists, authors, or originators of creative intent within our studio practice.
Human creators retain:
Final editorial judgment
Curatorial selection authority
Conceptual authorship
Material execution decisions
Quality control oversight
Edition approval authority
3. Augmentative Nature of AI Use
Our use of AI is intended to be augmentative rather than substitutive.
We find it absolutely crucial to distinguish between human-led artistic creation enhanced by digital tools, and fully automated content generation systems with minimal human intervention.
Within our studio, AI functions similarly to other historically adopted creative technologies, such as:
Digital editing software
Photographic processing tools
Color calibration systems
Printing technologies
Fabrication assistance workflows
The purpose of these systems is to:
Reduce unnecessary production friction
Improve operational efficiency in small-batch settings
Expand experimentation capacity
Lower certain cost barriers to art accessibility
Preserve more time for human creative refinement and craftsmanship
At no point is AI intended to diminish the role of the artist, artisan, or craftsperson.
4. Human Authorship & Creative Oversight
Any and all AI works produced or sold under MOONBASE Design & Co. are subject to meaningful human involvement, All works still may be subject to scrutiny under copyright or trademark jurisdiction where applicable.
Human oversight may include but is not limited to:
Original concept development
Directional prompting and iterative refinement
Manual editing and compositional modification
Physical finishing techniques
Material selection
Print calibration
Hand embellishment
Signing, numbering, and archival inspection
Final approval of all released works remains exclusively human.
5. Transparency Classification System
To support informed collecting and ethical transparency, works may be classified according to the following categories.
A. Handmade / Traditionally Executed Works
These works are created primarily through direct physical or manual artistic processes.
Examples may include but are not limited to: painting, drawing, sculpture, hand-printing, textiles, mixed-media construction, and hand-finished editions
For handmade works:
AI may not be involved at all, or
AI involvement, if any, is strictly administrative or non-creative in nature.
Any meaningful AI-assisted creative process will be disclosed separately where applicable.
B. AI-Assisted Fine Art Works
These works involve limited AI-supported processes under substantial human creative direction and editorial control.
Characteristics may include:
Human-developed conceptual frameworks
Extensive human refinement
Manual post-processing
Curated iteration selection
Small-batch physical production oversight
Transparency Notes
For AI-assisted works:
AI contribution is disclosed as part of the production process.
Human authorship remains central and materially significant.
The work is not represented as entirely handmade or traditionally executed without qualification.
Ethical data sourcing/reverse search helps provide positive attribution of contributing artists
Where relevant, product pages or certificates may indicate:
“Created through a human-led creative process incorporating limited AI-assisted production tools.”
6. Production Ethics & Small-Batch Operations
We believe ethical production includes both labor responsibility and production restraint.
Accordingly:
Works are produced in intentionally limited quantities where feasible.
Production workflows prioritize quality over mass automation.
Human review accompanies all final outputs.
Materials are selected with consideration for durability and sustainability when practicable.
AI is not used to industrialize artistic production at unlimited scale, as to do so would be counter-productive by accelerating the inherent entropy in systems.
Our objective is not mass replication, but thoughtful accessibility.
7. Intellectual Property & Originality
We strive to respect intellectual property rights and avoid exploitative or deceptive practices.
Our policies include:
Avoiding intentional imitation of living artists’ protected styles for commercial substitution
Rejecting misleading claims of purely handmade authorship where AI-assisted processes were materially involved
Maintaining meaningful human transformation and curation in final works
Implementing internal review processes for originality and ethical compliance
8. Consumer Transparency Commitment
We recognize that collectors and viewers may value different production methods differently.
Accordingly, we commit to:
Describing production methods in good faith
Avoiding intentionally deceptive marketing language
Distinguishing between handmade, digitally assisted, and AI-assisted works where relevant
Providing process information upon reasonable request
Transparency is part of our artistic and ethical practice. As AI technologies and legal frameworks continue to evolve, we reserve the right to update this policy as industry standards, regulatory guidance, and best practices develop.
*Updated versions of this policy may be published periodically.
